MLB partners with the Prostate Cancer Foundation to raise awareness through the Home Run Challenge

Did you know that 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime? That is approximately equivalent to 1 player on the baseball field. By 2024, nearly 300,000 American men will be diagnosed. And while the vast majority will have early-stage disease that is highly treatable, prostate cancer is still a deadly disease for too many fathers, coaches, brothers and husbands. That’s why the Prostate Cancer Foundation is teaming up with Major League Baseball to raise awareness.

For 29 years, MLB and PCF have teamed up for the Home Run Challenge to raise awareness and funds to support lifesaving prostate cancer research. From now through Father’s Day (June 16), the PCF team will travel to ballparks across the country to meet fans and players alike.

Thanks to MLB’s continued efforts, the Home Run Challenge has raised more than $70 million for breakthroughs in prostate cancer research. PCF fans have been to more than 500 games at every ballpark in North America, seen some of the greatest moments in baseball history, been joined by more than 40 Hall of Famers and participated in more than 1,000 broadcasts.

You’re invited to join us and support prostate cancer research by tracking your favorite team’s home runs, making a donation, taking our baseball trivia challenges and entering to win autographed baseball memorabilia.
