More storms are moving through North Florida, packing winds of 75 miles per hour. See Tallahassee radar

Severe storms are moving across Florida’s Panhandle and North Florida this morning, a week after three tornadoes hit the area.

Two people were confirmed killed in the May 10 tornadoes: a 47-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl.

On Friday, May 17, a wind gust of 70 mph was recorded early this morning at a weather station at Cape San Blas, along with another gust of 70 mph at Apalachicola shortly before 6:30 a.m.

The National Weather Service Tallahassee warned that Apalachicola and neighboring coastal counties could see winds of 50 to 75 mph if a storm moves through the area before 7 a.m.

Some areas are under a severe thunderstorm warning until 7 a.m

  • Sunday: There is a 40 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. West wind around 5 mph.
