MINNEAPOLIS — A high pressure system will bring more sunshine to Minnesota by the end of the weekend.
Sunday will start off cool again, but temperatures are expected to rise to closer to average levels in the afternoon, around 25 degrees.
Southwestern Minnesota could see some rain in the evening, but most of the state will remain dry. That system will bring some clouds by sunset and beyond.
That cloud cover could affect the ability to see the Perseid meteor shower, which with a peak on Sunday and Monday in the late evening and night.
If it remains dry until the evening, this will be the first completely dry weekend since the end of June and only the fourth dry weekend since the beginning of April.
Further out, it looks more likely that a few showers will arrive in Minnesota on Wednesday or Thursday. Another weak disturbance could also bring some rain late in the week.
Temperatures will be around 21 degrees Celsius for most of the week.
