Morgan Wallen’s criminal charges have been reduced to misdemeanors ahead of Thursday’s plea hearing

Morgan Wallen will enter a plea to the criminal charges against him Thursday afternoon.

Wallen is accused of throwing a chair from the sixth floor of a Broadway bar in April, nearly hitting a pair of police officers on the street below.

Judge Cynthia Chappell set a hearing for Wallen to enter a plea on Thursday at 12:45 p.m

Wallen’s case was moved from general session court to criminal court on Tuesday. The charges against Wallen were reduced in that move, court records show.

Morgan Wallen performs during his One Night at a Time Tour concert at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, Thursday, May 2, 2024.

After his arrest, Wallen was charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, and three counts of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, a class E misdemeanor, the lowest misdemeanor. Wallen’s charge now consists of two felony counts of reckless endangerment without a weapon.

Wallen’s attorney Worrick Robinson did not respond to an email sent Wednesday afternoon.
