Another gray day in the Philadelphia area is in the books. Just like Saturday, Sunday was also gloomy and foggy, with a few showers here and there. We’ll see some patchy fog by morning, so take it easy on Monday.
It will again be mainly cloudy on Monday with some breaks in the sun later in the day. We cannot rule out a shower or a few splashes, but it will not be significant. Highs will range from mid-60s to late 70s.
Gray skies and a chance of showers will continue through Tuesday thanks to the remnants of what was once Hurricane Helene.
A trough and cold front will push the remnants toward the coast on Wednesday and our skies will become sunny by Thursday. The later part of the week will be beautiful, with highs in the mid 70s. One or two spots may even reach 80 degrees before the week is over.
Next weekend initially looks dry, but there may be a shower or storm late on Sunday.
As for the tropics, all eyes are on the developing region over the Caribbean, the Bay of Campeche and the southern Gulf of Mexico.
Conditions are favorable for the development of another tropical system later this week. This is the same region Helene just came from. It’s too early to tell where a system will track, but the entire Gulf Coast will be on alert again.
