According to researchers, their bodies had been there for some time
A mother and her adult son were found dead in a Minnesota apartment in what police are investigating as a murder-suicide.
Officers came across the bodies — both suffering from gunshot wounds — while conducting a welfare check at the 30-year-old son’s apartment in northeast Rochester on Thursday, June 27, according to a statement from the Rochester Police Department.
Neither the son nor his 54-year-old mother have been publicly identified by authorities, who said in a news release Friday that they were still in the process of notifying relatives.
When officers found the mother and son, their “bodies had been there for some time,” police said.

Officers removed a firearm “from the son’s body” and detectives say they are not looking for additional suspects.
