Motorcyclist dies after multi-car crash near Northeast Philadelphia, police say

A motorcyclist died after a multi-car crash near Bustleton Avenue and Tomlinson Road in Northeast Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon, according to police.

Police said the motorcyclist, a 22-year-old man, was traveling north on Bustleton Avenue, weaving between lanes, and collided with a private car that was traveling southbound and turning left onto Tomlinson Road after 3:30 p.m.

The man was taken by medics to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital and pronounced dead at 4:24 p.m

According to police, four cars, including the motorcycle, were involved in the accident.

After the initial collision involving the motorcycle and the passenger car, two cars following the passenger car collided from behind, police said in the news release.

No other injuries were reported.
