A motorcyclist died Sunday afternoon after crashing into a ravine while riding on a trail just outside Hesperia, officials said.
According to California Highway Patrol logs, the crash was first reported in the area of the 4800 block of Summit Valley Road around 4:20 p.m.
A motorcyclist stopped a passing motorist for help and explained that their friend was injured after going off a trail and through a ravine, the agency said. The motorcycle came to a stop on a nearby train track.
The injured driver died on the spot.
As the investigation continued Monday evening, no further details were available.
