According to a Facebook post, multiple agencies are involved in the ongoing search: the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Fish and Wildlife and the U.S. Coast Guard.
Fire officials say they are looking for a Hispanic man in his early to mid-20s, wearing black trunks.
Officials say the 911 call came in from family members around 1:45 p.m. after the man had been missing in the water for 20 minutes.
Officials are using jet skis and helicopters to search for the man.

St. Johns County Fire Rescue PIO Chris Naff is urging everyone to stay out of the water due to the high rip current risk.
“Stay out of the water… The water with the currents is super dangerous right now. I know it’s a beautiful day out and everyone wants to go to the beach, but stay out of the water and enjoy it from a distance,” said Naff.
It’s also after lifeguard season, which means there are patrols instead of lifeguard towers.
