On Sunday night in Studio City, a fire ripped through the carport of an apartment complex, damaging several vehicles.
Video from the scene showed multiple cars on fire just before 4 a.m. in the 11900 block of W. Moorpark Street.
There, firefighters found at least five cars engulfed in flames. The fire had spread to the apartment complex, but firefighters were able to keep the fire under control.
“I just woke up to the sound of crackling and a scream and I looked out my window and saw red. I grabbed my cat, woke everyone up, got out and looked: my car was on fire. All the cars in our small parking lot were on fire, I don’t know what happened and it grew very quickly,” said a witness.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation.
