Multiple police and SWAT units respond to a barricaded subject inside the west Fort Worth home

Fort Worth police and SWAT officers engaged in a standoff with a barricaded person in the western part of the city Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

Nearly 60 police and SWAT units responded to a home in the 4900 block of Lyndon Drive after a 911 caller reported receiving a text from a friend saying he was going to “kick in the back door,” according to the 911 call sheet.

The first call came in around 9:50 am. The resident was not home at the time, according to the call log.

SWAT teams and Crisis Intervention Team officers were dispatched to the scene around 11 a.m

A Fort Worth police spokesperson said shortly before 1 p.m. that it was still an active call involving an apparently barricaded individual.
