EVESHAM — A Virginia man left a trail of death and violence before coming here in an attempt to find his estranged wife, police say.
Amandeep Singh, 49, allegedly attacked two female relatives in his Manassas home and then killed two tenants in a basement apartment, authorities say.
Singh was taken into custody on October 13 after he allegedly pointed a gun at a family member during an overnight confrontation.
Evesham police say Singh, searching for his wife, traveled about 200 miles to confront relatives at a Kelly Drive home shortly before 2 a.m.

“During their conversation, Amandeep stated that he killed two individuals in Virginia and then brandished and pointed a silver firearm,” a probable cause statement for a weapons violation states.
Surveillance video from the home showed Singh’s vehicle, leading to his arrest in Medford.
Medford police found a loaded handgun in Singh’s car, along with an AK47 rifle with four high-capacity magazines, and more than 170 rounds of various ammunition.
The crime wave in Virginia
A search of Singh’s home in Manassas turned up the bodies of two tenants, a married couple living in a basement apartment.
The victims – Joshua Lee Davis and Nicole Wanda Lynn Davis, both 45 – had been shot in the head.
Investigators subsequently learned of a previous domestic incident between Singh and two female relatives, ages 50 and 53.
In that incident on October 12, Singh allegedly held the women at gunpoint in a bedroom. He fired a shot, but neither woman was hit, police said.
Singh is also accused of hitting one woman and putting his hands around the other’s neck.
According to Prince William County police in Virginia, the incident, which was not immediately reported to police, preceded the killings.
There is currently no known connection between the domestic incident and the murders, the police report said.
Singh’s wife was later found safe at another location.
