A 26-year-old man who police said was completely nude and behaving erratically when he was arrested in Orange County on Saturday died 16 hours after being taken into custody.
Anaheim Police Department officers were dispatched to the 800 block of North Harbor Boulevard around 2:12 p.m. after receiving multiple reports of “a naked male acting strangely,” according to an APD news release.

“The man, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was completely nude, behaving erratically and exhibiting signs and symptoms of being under the influence of drugs,” police added.
The 26-year-old was arrested for public nudity and for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Before booking him into the Anaheim Police Detention Facility, officers transported the man to the hospital for medical clearance. Police say the 26-year-old began showing signs of medical distress en route to the hospital.
“Officers immediately stopped, provided medical aid, administered Narcan and requested Anaheim Fire & Rescue to respond to their location,” the news release said.

Medical staff then took the 26-year-old by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he died 16 hours later.
Information about the man’s exact cause of death has not yet been provided.
APD homicide detectives and investigators from the Orange County District Attorney’s Office investigated the incident.
