Chase Briscoe qualified for the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs on Sunday night.
Briscoe held off Kyle Busch to win the Southern 500 and earn his second playoff spot with an incredible drive. Busch pressured Briscoe for the final 15 laps of the race, but Briscoe was nearly flawless and held off the two-time Cup Series champion.
Briscoe’s win was no accident. He had one of the fastest cars all night and took advantage of it with an incredible pass for the lead. Check out this three-wide move before the final caution that ultimately won him the race.
Briscoe is the 14th driver to qualify for the playoffs with a win. Martin Truex Jr. and Ty Gibbs took the final two spots via their position in the points standings, while Chris Buescher and Bubba Wallace were not included.
