Joey Logano led all but one lap to win the NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro on Sunday night.

Logano won the pole for the race on Sunday and maximized that starting spot. Logano was never officially passed under green flag conditions and the only lap he did not lead occurred on lap 104, when Brad Keselowski was given the honor of leading a lap under caution.

Drivers had difficulty making passes on the restored race track, yet another example of how much work NASCAR still has to do to get its Cup Series car producing decent short-track racing. NASCAR implemented a second tire compound for the race that was supposed to be grippy and less durable. But that idea worked much better in theory than in reality.

Logano beat Denny Hamlin to the finish by more than a second. Hamlin tried twice to get past Logano after the restart, but was unable to do so. The race had four cautions and two of them were pre-planned for the race. The first came in the second round when Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was kicked into the wall by Kyle Busch and the other unscheduled warning came when Ty Gibbs spun.
