Neighbors question why officers, police and SWAT swarmed Bartow County neighborhood on Sunday

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation confirmed they were on the scene of an ongoing investigation in Bartow County.

Details are limited at this time, but Channel 2’s Courtney Francisco was live from the scene on WSB tonight at 11pm on Sunday, where she spoke to neighbors about what they had seen.

Around 7 p.m. Sunday night, officers raided a neighborhood in Adairsville, where families reported hiding in their homes during a violent unrest.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation confirmed that agents were actively collecting evidence at a home on Country Cove Lane.

“Adairsville, Georgia should be a safe place, but today I didn’t feel safe,” said Caidan Churchwell.

Neighbors said they noticed something was wrong before 6 p.m.

“My grandmother said she could hear the police saying, ‘Get down, get down,'” Jada McCollum said. “They wouldn’t let her out of the house. They had to cover the blinds and hide.”

Earlier, the GBI confirmed they were on site in the area and we await their confirmation of the cause of the lockdown and where the disruption began.
