New documentary explores the real Truman Show in Japan

In “The Truman Show,” Jim Carrey’s character, Truman, learns that his entire life is a lie and that he is the subject of a reality TV show. Before the film even hit theaters, a similar real-life scenario played out in Japan: Nasubi, a 22-year-old aspiring comedian, became an unwitting participant in a twisted reality show.
