Watch the ‘Elf’ film in an interactive viewing experience
ALLIANCE – Rodman Public Library, 215 E. Broadway St., will show the film “Elf” in an interactive viewing experience on the big screen in the Main Auditorium on Saturday at 1 p.m. Admission to the film is free.
Those who attend the film will receive a script and a bag of props and goodies to enhance their viewing experience. Chess in the library
ALLIANCE – Rodman Public Library, 215 E. Broadway St., offers a chess club every third Wednesday of the month from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The December session is next Wednesday. The program for January is January 15.
The Rodman Chess Club is open to visitors of all ages. Although it is called a club, there is no formal membership. Various boards are set up in the main auditorium as players mingle to find opponents. Players are welcome to come and go as they please.

Joint Christmas party Saturday

Night Hike in the Wilderness Center
SUGAR CREEK TWP. – The Wilderness Center, 9877 Alabama Ave. SW, is offering a special Winter Solstice Night Walk on Friday from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
Take a walk in the Wilderness Center on the longest night of the year. Bring a red light flashlight; white lights are not allowed on the trails at night. Don’t have a red light flashlight? Bring your flashlight and the staff can turn it red for you. Walking shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather are recommended. After the show, weather permitting, join the Astronomy Club at the Wilderness Center Observatory to view the winter night sky through telescopes. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, take a tour of the night sky in the planetarium after the special holiday show.
