NEXT Weather warning on Thursday for possible heavy evening storms

MINNEAPOLIS — The Twin Cities are facing a series of storms Thursday night, triggering a NEXT weather warning.

The forecast high is 83 degrees. There will be storms in the Fargo area in the morning hours, and possibly in northwest Minnesota.

Some models are showing showers from 8 a.m. to noon near the Mississippi River Valley up to the Twin Cities.

There is a small chance of severe weather in the metro on Thursday evening between 5:00 and 7:00 PM, with wind, heavy rainfall and a possible tornado.

Humidity will decrease after the storm system, resulting in a series of very pleasant days in the metro.

Friday will be in the upper 70s and Saturday will be in the lower 80s. One, or both, could be #Top10WxDays.

On Sunday and Labor Day, slightly cooler air moves in, bringing temperatures down to around 68 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit. A great way to end meteorological summer.

Early next week it looks like it will dry up and slowly get warmer, closer to average. This could be one of the best weather periods the metropolis has experienced in a long time.
