NFL Injury Tracker Week 11: Tyreek Hill Postpones Wrist Surgery, Amari Cooper Questionable, Tee Higgins Expected to Play

Tyreek Hill said Thursday he may need surgery on his wrist, but he is willing to wait until the offseason to resolve the issue.

“At the end of the day, I just had to suck it up and just deal with the pain,” Hill said. “It will only get worse the more I play, but it has to be done [tough] it out for my team. I’m here, I’m locked in, no matter what happens, no matter how I feel. So even if I have to cut my wrist, I’m still there because I love football.

“Surgery came up and it was talked about when I talked to a few doctors, but ultimately it’s my decision, and my call is to stay on the field.”

The Miami Dolphins wide receiver suffered a wrist injury during a joint training camp practice with the Washington Commanders. The discomfort has only increased as the 2024 season progresses. Hill sat out the team’s final two practices last week and was listed as questionable ahead of their Monday night game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Hill is expected to play this week against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Amari Cooper has missed the team’s last two games due to a wrist injury suffered in Week 8. Cooper said this week he feels ready to return after being limited in practice.

“I definitely feel better. Definitely more comfortable,” Cooper said. “So, just ready to play football again.”

Cooper, who is listed as questionable, will continue to wear a wrist cast and said he doesn’t feel any pain when passing, but just needs to get used to wearing it while playing.

The Bills will be without wide receiver Keon Coleman for the second straight week as he deals with a wrist injury of his own. Tight End Dalton Kincaid has also been ruled out due to a knee injury.

After missing training camp and the first nine weeks of the regular season, New England Patriots defensive lineman Christian Barmore returned to practice Thursday. Barmore spent time on the non-football illness list while dealing with blood clots.

Barmore, who is coming off a season in which he played in all 17 games and had 65 tackles with 8.5 sacks and 13 tackles for loss, did not speak to reporters after practice but did post an Instagram story: “Where there There is no pain, there is no gain.”

It’s unlikely the 25-year-old will play against the Los Angeles Rams this week, but the fact he’s back on the field is a good sign.

“He’s out there. That’s the first step, and we’ll go from there,” defensive coordinator DeMarcus Covington said. “Let’s take it day by day, week by week, game by game, and that’s really the story for you, that’s the story for us, for him. No pressure should be put on him. Like he’s out there. That’s it. I’m glad you’re here, brother. You’re out there. It’s one click, it’s 50 clicks. Don’t play this game, whatever it is, perfect. It’s better than not being there, right? It’s better than not being able to play football anymore.”

Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo said Friday there is a “chance” Barmore plays Sunday, but first they will meet with doctors after practice.

After missing the Cincinnati Bengals’ last three games, wide receiver Tee Higgins will return for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, according to head coach Zac Taylor.

Due to injuries, Higgins was only able to play five games this season. He has 341 receiving yards on 29 receptions with three touchdowns.
