It’s not often that the NFL releases the tickets for a nationally televised game on a Sunday afternoon. It’s also not often that we get an early-season Super Bowl rematch between two teams that still have their sights set on a return to February football.
The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers have had very different starts to the season. Patrick Mahomes’ numbers are down from some of his splashy statistical years, but the Chiefs continue to win close games. They are 5-0 with early byes, and four of their five wins have come by just one score. The 49ers, on the other hand, have a dominant offense despite injuries to key stretches — second in the league in passing yards and third in rushing yards — but have blown a pair of double-digit leads in the second half en route to a victory. 3-3 points after six weeks.
While there are two games (Raiders at Rams, Panthers at Commanders) at 4:00 PM ET on CBS, the national audience will see Kansas City at San Francisco at 4:25 PM ET on Fox.
