Nine arrests were made and five illegal dirt bikes were seized in Hartford on Saturday, part of an operation aimed at curbing the illegal use of ATVs and dirt bikes in the city, police said.
Police said the nine arrests came after several large groups rode recklessly through the streets of Hartford on dirt bikes on Saturday.
According to police, the Hartford Police Department’s Community Crime Suppression Team, community service officers, officers from the Hartford Police Property Room and the Connecticut State Police all worked together on the operation.
“Several large groups of individuals were encountered riding dirt bikes, flooding the streets and driving recklessly. A total of nine arrests were made, including one arrest for a stolen firearm and possession of crack cocaine and fentanyl,” said Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department.
