Northwest Minnesota Women’s Fund is seeking funding proposals

Oct. 13—BEMIDJI — The Northwest Minnesota Women’s Fund is seeking funding proposals for programs and services benefiting women and girls in northwest Minnesota. Applications must be submitted by November 1.

For example, grant funds can be used for speakers, educational materials, program costs, research projects and for professional development. No grants are available for higher education scholarships, according to a news release.

Applicants must be located in the Northwest Minnesota Foundation service area, which includes Red Lake and White Earth Nations, along with Beltrami, Clearwater, Hubbard, Kittson, Lake of the Woods, Mahnomen, Marshall, Norman, Pennington, Polk, Red counties Lake and Roseau.

Priority will be given to projects that support the objectives of the Women’s Fund:

* Developing entrepreneurial and economic opportunities for women.

* Support programs that create a safer environment for women and girls.

* Building networks of women in leadership positions across the region.

* Encouraging and equipping women and girls to reach their full potential.

The Northwest Minnesota Women’s Fund is a component fund of the Northwest Minnesota Foundation and develops resources and serves as a catalyst for improving the quality of life for women and girls. The Fund envisions a region where women and girls can reach their full potential, and they work to that end through grants, scholarships, education and recognition programs.
