Police in Novato have completed the search of a high school and secured the campus after a report of a nearby robbery Thursday, but the investigation continues, the department said.
Just after noon Thursday, police announced that Novato High School on Arthur Street was on lockdown.
According to the police, officers have searched the campus and the surrounding area for suspects involved in a robbery. Officers set up a perimeter and deployed K-9 units and a drone for their investigation.
As of 1:40 p.m., the campus was secured and the students were released, with a student pick-up spot in the high school’s main parking lot, police said.
Community members should continue to expect police activity on the streets surrounding the school, Novato police said. People are asked to avoid the area.
