An NYPD officer was shot and wounded Tuesday night in Queens after exchanging gunfire with a suspect, sources told the Daily News.
The shooting happened at the intersection of Jamaica Ave. around 6:30 p.m. and 164th St. in Jamaica.
The officer was shot in the right leg and his wound was not life-threatening, the sources said. The suspect died on the spot.
Fellow officers took the injured officer in a patrol car to Jamaica Hospital. His condition was not immediately clear.
