NYPD officers exchange gunfire with fleeing suspect in Brooklyn after a car chase from Queens

Police exchanged gunfire with a running suspect Saturday night after a chase from Queens into Brooklyn, police said.

No injuries were reported in the incident, which began shortly after 8 p.m. when officers from the 114 Precinct attempted a car stop on 36th Ave. and 34th St. in Astoria, Queens. According to police, the driver fled in his car, while police gave chase.
The chase ended 2.5 miles later when the suspect crashed his car into another car at 406 Kingsland Ave. in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and fled on foot.
During the foot chase, the suspect and officers fired shots, but no one was injured, police said.
The suspect was later found and arrested, they said.
