The Baltimore region is expected to go 29 straight days without rain through October.
According to the National Weather Service, just over an inch of rain fell in the Baltimore area on Oct. 1 and 2, and no precipitation has been recorded since. According to the weather service, the Baltimore area normally receives nearly 9.5 inches of rain in October.
The dry weather has continued since September, when just over 2 inches of rain fell in the Baltimore area, compared to an average of almost 4 inches, according to the National Weather Service.
About three-quarters of Baltimore City and County is “abnormally dry,” but not under drought conditions, based on federal data.

Monday morning is expected to be cold across Baltimore and the state.
The weather service issued a freeze advisory and freeze warning for most of Maryland from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. because temperatures in the upper 20s and low 30s could kill crops and damage unprotected outdoor pipes.
Temperatures around Baltimore are expected to reach 62 degrees in the afternoon and fall back to the 40s at night.
On Tuesday, high temperatures are expected to reach the upper 60s under mostly sunny skies, dropping into the low 50s overnight.
Wednesday afternoon is also expected to be sunny as high temperatures climb into the upper 70s before dropping into the upper 50s overnight.
Halloween on Thursday is expected to be warm, with highs in the afternoon near 80 degrees and temperatures staying in the low 60s at night.
The chance of rain returns to the forecast early Friday morning, the first day of November, when there is a 40% chance of rain between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m., and drops to a 30% chance on Friday afternoon.
Temperatures are expected to reach the upper 70s on Friday before dropping into the 40s overnight.
Both Saturday and Sunday are expected to be mostly sunny with high temperatures in the 60s.
