The Ohio Department of Transportation District 5 invites the public to a meeting about a proposed project that will improve the safety of Pike Street in Licking County.
The meeting will take place on October 29 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Etna Town Hall (81 Liberty Street).
ODOT is proposing the project to widen the roadway and improve safety and pedestrian access. Verdantas Consulting Engineers, LLC, is serving as ODOT’s consultant on the project.
The reconstruction of the Pike Street roadway would take place from just east of Ohio 310 to Etna United Methodist Church. The works will include an improved roadway with a sidewalk and shared-use path, as well as drainage, lighting and pedestrian crossings. Pedestrian facilities would also be installed as part of the project scope.
Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2026. Visit ODOT’s website for complete project details: www.transportation.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/odot/projects/projects/119487.
The public is asked to attend the meeting and provide feedback on the proposed project. Comments on the project may be submitted in person at the meeting, via the comment submission form on the website, or by telephone at 740-323-5111. Comments received before November 19 will be included in the official project documentation, but all comments will be accepted at any time.
Individuals requiring interpretation services or a reasonable accommodation to attend the meeting or provide commentary are asked to contact ODOT at 740-323-5111 by October 22. Public participation in this project is requested without regard to race, color, sex, age, national origin or disability.
Questions or comments about the project can be directed to Benjamin Boyer, project manager, at 740-323-5111, or by email at benjamin.boyer@dot.ohio.gov.
