Officer hit and injured by illegal dirt bike in Northeast Philadelphia

A Philadelphia motorcycle cop is recovering after being hit by an illegal dirt bike. It happened Wednesday around 9:30 p.m. at Stanwood and Leon streets. Investigators say the police sergeant was patrolling on his bicycle when the dirt bike ran a stop sign and struck him. The officer suffered a leg injury, but he is expected to be fine. The 22-year-old motorcyclist was arrested.
