TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – An officer shot a suspect in Haines City Friday evening, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting happened on US-27 near I-4, a Haines City Police Department spokesman said.
Police say all officers involved are safe. The person who was shot was hospitalized.
Officials are expected to provide an update at 10:30 p.m. WFLA plans to stream the press conference live in the player above.
A Florida Department of Transportation traffic camera showed traffic in the area.
