Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officers are hunting a suspect in a carjacking near South Los Angeles.
It is unclear what prompted the chase.
The officers have reason to believe that the suspect may be armed. There is also at least one passenger in the car.
They say the carjacking happened at a gas station in Lynwood around 8:45 p.m. and the suspects forced a person out of his vehicle and fled the scene. The victim was not injured in the incident.
As the pursuit continued, the suspect could be seen driving eastbound on the I-105 Freeway at speeds of 90 mph (145 km/h) without his headlights on.
Despite this, the suspect continued to use his turn signals as he led officers down the highway. At times, the passenger would stick his arm out the window, giving what appeared to be a signal to the pursuing officers that could have been his middle finger.

They were also seen holding what appeared to be a mobile phone and filming the cars chasing them as they continued to flee.
California Highway Patrol officers try to find a way to assist officers in the pursuit.
At approximately 10:00 p.m., the suspect exited the freeway toward Downtown Los Angeles, making his way through the streets with several patrol cars hot on his heels. Their brief foray into downtown ended a few minutes later when they rejoined the I-710 Freeway heading north.
