Officers are investigating two separate shootings that left two people dead in East Orange County on Independence Day.

Eyewitness News sends teams to each crime scene to gather additional details.
Officers responded to the 5200 block of Sailfish Street just after 2 p.m. for reports of a shooting. They arrived to find a man in his 40s who had been shot.
According to the sheriff’s office, the victim was taken to the hospital and died from his injuries.

Less than 15 minutes later, just before 2:30 p.m., additional Orange County officers responded to the 2700 block of Appaloosa Road, about three miles from Sailfish Street, for reports of another shooting.

There, officers found a man in his twenties who had been shot. He was also taken to a hospital, where he died.

Orange County detectives believe both shootings are related.
Officers say they have arrested a suspect in connection with the shooting and that there is no danger to the public.
Neither the victims nor the possible suspects have been identified.
