Officers are searching for a suspect accused of shooting someone near the Ohio State University campus in Columbus on Monday night.

According to our news partner WBNS in Columbus, just before 8:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in the area of John Herrick Drive and Olentangy River Road, near the south end of campus.
The university posted a public safety alert online Monday night, saying someone stopped a bus and told the driver he had been shot.

The victim was taken to hospital in stable condition, the university said.
The university identified the suspect as Richard Partridge, 31.
He is accused of kidnapping a woman at gunpoint in Columbus earlier this month, WBNS reported.
She was later found safe.
