Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officers shot a suspected armed man during a confrontation outside a 7-Eleven station in East LA on Tuesday.
Officers were called to the convenience store in the 6500 block of E. Olympic Boulevard just after midnight for a disturbance, according to a statement from the department.
Upon arrival, they found a man believed to be carrying a firearm.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear, but officers opened fire on the suspect shortly after arriving on the scene.
The unidentified man was taken to hospital in an unknown condition.
No other injuries were reported in the incident.
