An armed man was shot dead by officers at the Hollywood Casino & Hotel on Saturday Lawrenceburg police said in a social media post.
Shortly before 1 a.m., police responded to the Lawrenceburg casino on Hollywood Boulevard, an Indiana State Police spokesperson told The Enquirer.
Reports indicated a man was “chasing a woman and making threats,” the post said.
Upon arrival, officers were told there had been reports of shots being fired.
Officers exited an elevator at the hotel and encountered an armed man, the spokesperson said.
Shots were fired and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Indiana State Police are investigating the incident and expect to release more information soon.
The spokesperson said the coroner is working to identify the man and notify his next of kin of his death.
