MILLADORE – Officials have released the name of a 60-year-old Wausau man who was killed Thursday night in a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle in Wood County.
Alonzo B. Dvorak was riding his motorcycle eastbound on U.S. 10 around 7:16 p.m. Thursday when a vehicle driven by an 86-year-old Junction City woman traveling north on Wood County N failed to yield at a stop sign in the town of Milladore, according to a news release from the Wood County Sheriff’s Office. The motorcycle and the other vehicle collided. Dvorak was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the news release.
A 57-year-old Wausau woman who was a passenger on the motorcycle suffered multiple injuries and was transported to a hospital by Lifelink Helicopter, the Sheriff’s Office said. A condition report was not available for the passenger.
According to the sheriff’s office, the 86-year-old Junction City woman was injured in the crash and was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin State Patrol are investigating the crash. The eastbound lanes of U.S. 10 near the crash remained closed for more than two hours Thursday night, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation said.
