On Election Day, voters will likely experience rain showers in Miami-Dade and Broward counties

South Florida voters may see a few showers and a windy day as they head to the polls on Election Day, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

In Miami-Dade, there is a 50 percent chance of showers on Tuesday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., when the polls are open on Election Day. The forecast also calls for winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

“It doesn’t hurt to bring an umbrella if you’re heading out tomorrow,” said Sammy Hadi, meteorologist for the National Weather Service. “Pack an umbrella and prepare for windy conditions on Election Day.”

Expect a high temperature of around 84 degrees, with temperatures dropping to around 77 degrees Tuesday evening. There is a 50 percent chance of thunder in the evening.

In Broward, there is a 60 percent chance of showers on Tuesday, forecasters say. The chance of rain drops to 50 percent on Tuesday evening.

Expect a humid day with temperatures reaching the mid 80s and dropping into the upper 70s by nightfall.

Broward will also be windy on Tuesday, with winds of 15 to 20 mph and gusts up to 25 mph, forecasters say.
