One convicted of criminal offenses in the South East District Court

Nov. 9—JAMESTOWN — One person was recently convicted of misdemeanor assault in Southeast District Court in Jamestown.

Chianne Joy Bertsch, 27, Jamestown, pleaded guilty to prohibited acts A/controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia, class C felonies.

Bertsch was charged with possession of methamphetamine with previous convictions in 2017 and 2019 and possession of one or more smoking devices laced with methamphetamine with previous convictions in 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2023 on September 8.

Judge Troy LeFevre sentenced Bertsch to one day in the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, with credit for one day served. LeFevre placed Bertsch on two years of supervised probation and ordered her to submit to fingerprinting and to register and complete the Stutsman/Barnes Drug Court program. Bertsch was also ordered to pay an indigent defense application fee of $35, indigent restitution of $300 and a victim-witness fee of $25.

A Class C felony is punishable by five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
