A man has died after a late-night shooting at an event venue in Columbia, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department announced.
Around 11:30 p.m. Friday, officers were called to 9221 Two Notch Road to an event venue called Suite Sixty for a shooting, officials said. They met with location security, who said there was a person inside with gunshot wounds.
A deputy located the shooting victim and began life-saving measures. However, the man died on the spot from his injuries. EMS and the Richland County Coroner were called.
Witnesses told the sheriff’s department that a “large fight” broke out in the venue and a man was shot several times by a person outside the building. The suspected shooter left the scene before emergency services arrived.
