One person is dead after a shooting Friday at a subway in the West Adams neighborhood of South Los Angeles.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, it happened at the JeffersonLa Cienega Station, located in the 6600 block of Jefferson Boulevard, around 7:20 p.m.

Officers arrived to find a man in his 30s who had died after being shot in the head.

They are looking for three suspects who fled the area on skateboards.

“There are indications that there may have been an altercation or fight here on the ground floor and that the individuals ran up onto the platform and boarded a train that was parked here at the station,” said LAPD Captain Jaime Bennett.

Due to the investigation, Metro has returned all E Line trains from the Culver City and La Brea stations.

SkyCal flew over the scene of the shooting, where over a dozen police officers could be seen investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

No further information has been provided yet.

“Street violence spilling over onto our public transportation system is an increasing problem in the Los Angeles area. Metro extends its condolences to the family and friends of the victim,” said a statement from a Metro spokesperson.
