One dead in multi-person shooting near South Carolina-North Carolina border

A 20-year-old man was killed on Sunday in a shooting in the Loris district, in which several people were involved, police reported.

Anari “Nari” As-Sabur, of Loris, died Monday at a local hospital from injuries he suffered in the shooting near Wright Road, Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden said in an email.

According to a police report, Horry County police responded to a shooting near the South Carolina-North Carolina border around 6 p.m. involving multiple people.

Two victims were being transported in personal vehicles, the report said. The condition of the other person who was shot was unknown.

No further details about the shooting were available. It is unclear whether any arrests have been made in the case.
