One person was taken to the hospital Thursday after a violent two-car crash on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.
According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the crash happened in the westbound lanes of PCH near Latigo Shore just before 5 p.m.
The crew arrived to find that two cars had collided on the road, sending both up the hill.
One of the drivers had to be freed from his car after sustaining significant damage in the collision.
Paramedics rushed one of the drivers to a location near Pepperdine University, where an LACoFD helicopter was waiting to airlift them to a nearby hospital.
Their conditions were not immediately known.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
