Orlando Union Rescue Mission wants to build more temporary housing units for the homeless downtown, north of Camping World Stadium.

The nonprofit has proposed a three-building, 108-unit mixed-use development on 4.77 undeveloped acres at 1525 W. Washington St. The organization is seeking to adjust its future land use to accommodate the higher intensity.

Each building would be three stories and contain an average of 36 units, with a mix of studios and one- to three-bedroom units. The project would be built on the west side of Rock Lake, near the 9,000-square-foot Moody Chapel, and across from the nonprofit’s headquarters and family apartments on the east side of the lake.
