There’s always a reason to celebrate a postseason berth, but how the San Diego Padres did it Tuesday night may have been one of the sweetest ways they could have ever imagined. During a game against their archrival, the Los Angeles Dodgers, at Dodgers Stadium, the Padres turned the first-ever game-ending triple play and decided the postseason spot, securing their spot in baseball this October.
Jake Mintz and Jordan Shusterman discuss the impressive and rare triple play kicked by Gold Glover Manny Machado, the sloppiness we’ve come to expect from the Dodgers last night in the playoffs, and whether LA fans should be worried that the boys in blue can’t secure the division.
