At least 31 people were killed in the latest Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, according to Palestinian reports.
Seventeen Palestinians died in Gaza city alone, medical sources in the sealed-off coastal area reported, as Israeli forces continued their operations.
The information could not initially be independently verified. When asked, the Israeli military said it was checking the reports.
Eight people have been killed in attacks in southern Gaza, medical sources said.
The Israeli military said earlier it had struck targets after rockets were fired at Israeli towns overnight, and residents of eastern parts of the Gaza Strip town of Khan Younis were ordered to leave the area.
The terrorist organization Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) claimed responsibility for the attack the day before on Israeli border towns with about 20 rockets.
According to the Israeli army, fighting continued in other parts of Gaza. The army reported the death of two soldiers in an operation in the area, while another was seriously wounded.
Meanwhile, the Hamas-controlled health authority in Gaza reported that at least 37,925 people have been killed and another 87,141 wounded in the Gaza Strip since the war began in October last year.
The figures do not distinguish between civilians and fighters and cannot be independently verified.
The war in Gaza was sparked by the October 7 massacre in southern Israel, in which more than 1,200 people were killed by members of Hamas and allied militant groups.
