Panorama City may be a long way from Bikini Bottom, but SpongeBob’s favorite meal can be picked up another day Tuesday through an immersive drive-thru experience in Southern California.
In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the animated series “SpongeBob SquarePants,” Wendy’s, Nickelodeon and Paramount have teamed up to serve the Wendy’s Krabby Patty Kollab.
The special combination meal can be ordered nationally at Wendy’s on Tuesday, but the Panorama City Wendy’s is taking it to the next level.
The on-site tented drive-thru gives guests a quick tour of Bikini Bottom, the underwater world home to pineapples and the local burger joint, the Krusty Krab, run by Mr. Krabs, serving grilled Krabby Patties.
The Wendy’s Krabby Patty is a quarter-pound beef patty, with a top-secret Krabby Kollab sauce. The combination comes with fries and a Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty.
A line of cars waiting for the Panorama drive-thru experience could be seen at 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, with a giant upside-down SpongeBob marking the entrance to the drive-thru in a tent. The experience opened on Monday, October 7, and according to some social media posts, the wait could be up to two hours.
The animated series first premiered on Nickelodeon in 1999.
