Paramedics rushed a student to the Chino High School aquatic center Friday afternoon after he suffered a medical emergency.

The Chino Valley Unified School District said first responders were called to the aquatic center around 3 p.m. after bystanders noticed the student was in distress. According to the district, officers, firefighters and paramedics immediately arrived at the pool.

After 30 minutes, paramedics took the student to the hospital in unknown condition, a CVUSD spokesperson said.

“At this time, district and school personnel are working with appropriate agencies to determine the student’s condition, the events leading to the dispatch of first responders, and how best to assist the students who were present during the medical emergency supported,” a spokesperson said.

It is unclear whether it was a class or a summer camp for the high school team.
