Part of the Lake Scranton trail will need to be closed

A portion of the hiking trail around Lake Scranton will be closed due to a construction project underway.

The portion of the trail from the Little Stone Bridge to the dam will be temporarily closed Monday through Friday due to increased truck traffic, Pennsylvania American Water officials announced.

Officials are undertaking a $7.25 million project to add a slipline to an existing 48-inch pipe running through the East Mountain section of Scranton. They expect the work to take several weeks.
