Pedestrian fatally struck in collision along PCH in Long Beach

Long Beach police were investigating a crash on Pacific Coast Highway that claimed a life.

The crash happened at 2:30 a.m. Sunday near Molino Avenue and E. Pacific Coast Highway. When police arrived, they found the victim, who was not conscious or breathing and was pronounced dead.

Police say the driver responsible for hitting the pedestrian fled the scene.

The incident is still under investigation. The eastbound lanes are closed at Stanley Avenue and PCH.
