Authorities are searching for the hit-and-run driver who killed a pedestrian in the Koreatown neighborhood early Wednesday morning.
The crash happened around 6 a.m. when the victim, who has not yet been identified, was crossing Western Avenue near Seventh Street and was struck by the driver of a light gray or blue Acura MDX, Los Angeles police said.
Officers say the car, believed to be a 2004 to 2006 model, was traveling north on Western Avenue and continued without stopping to assist, heading toward Fourth Street.
The City of Los Angeles has offered a fixed reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the driver involved.
Investigators believe the car sustained damage to the right front passenger side in the collision.
